リチャード・ミズラックのこの書籍は、ハリケーン「カタリーナ」の残した物質的/精神的な影響の痛ましさを記録した作品だが、単にその傷跡を記録するのではなく、落書きに興味を引かれた。その落書きはスプレー、チョーク、クレヨンなどその場に偶然あったもので書かれている。そのメッセージには怯えた様子、自暴自棄な状況やブラックユーモアなどが表現されており、そのメッセージから、この災害が人々に残したショックをみごとに写し出した。
