The pencil drawings were all made between the years 2000 and 2003 based on the artist's own photographs. They are reproduced in their original size of 6 x 9 cm. The Winterthur artist Marcel Gähler shows in his first publication spectacularly detailed drawings based on his own photographs. Crime scene, non-place, dusk, twilight - confuse, captivate and have a lasting effect. In the last four years Marcel Gähler has created small drawings, which are now brought together in book form.

The photo-realistic component that determines the painting of the artist is amplified in the form of miniature pencil drawings, with the spectacular intricacies of drawing on the possibilities of template: so the black and white photography. The camera with him at all times, Marcel Gähler photographs unspectacular places in the twilight, in the dusk or at night, seemingly empty places, film stills, or potential crime scenes. Producing images with an ambivalent mixture of fact and non-place, images that are located at the interface between trivial snapshot and significant allusion leave the interpretation open. All drawings were made in hours of painstaking preparatory work for the templates of his own photos.

これらの鉛筆画は、アーティスト自身が撮影した写真を元に、2000年から2003年の間に制作された。6×9cmという作品自体のサイズと同じ大きさで出力されている。事件現場、夕やみ、薄暗がりなどを描き、迷いや魅惑的雰囲気を醸し出している。アーティストMarcel Gählerは過去4年間でこれらのスモールドローイングを制作し、今回本にまとめられる事となった。
Gählerはいつもカメラを持ち歩き、夕暗がりの中で何の変哲も無い、空虚な場所を撮影する。現実と非場所的なものの組み合わせによって、平凡なスナップショットと意味付けされた隠喩との間の境界線のあたりにある図像を多方面から解釈可能にする。また全てのドローイングは、何時間にも及ぶ大変な作業を経て制作されている。
