カーステン・ヘラーは1963年に生まれ、現在はストックホルムを拠点に活動をしながら国際的に作品を発表している。彼の作品は知覚認識と様々な刺激に対して身体がどのように反応するかに重点を持つ。
本書では、彼の新作品である彫刻や写真が収録されている。ヘラーのMirror Carousel (2005)では、伝統的な形の観覧車が機能しつつも反射鏡と光によって変貌させ、動きを強烈かつ二重に、そして不安定なものにした。さらに、中にはアッティリオ・マランザーノと共同制作した写真シリーズも同様に収録されている。
